2015 LERMIT PhD Fellowships for International Students to study in France

Applications are invited for a call for proposal for 3 year PhD Fellowships. The Fellowship is offered by LERMIT to International Students to study in France. Scholarship description The Laboratory of Excellence in Research on Medication and Innovative Therapeutics (LERMIT) is an interdisciplinary laboratory composed of high profile biologists, chemists and physio-chemists joining their forces to collectively explore new therapeutic avenues. Their common goal is to combat three major classes of diseases presenting a continuous threat to the society: cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and infectious and immune diseases. To achieve this goal, their joined effort is directed towards:

  • A better understanding of the molecular mechanisms causing these diseases
  • The discovery of new therapeutic targets
  • The design and development of new medications to treat or block the progression of these diseases
  • The development of new strategies for improved targeting and delivery of the medications at the disease site
  • An improved efficacy of current therapeutics

These fellowships concern the scope of the Doctoral Schools 418 (Cancer), 425 (Therapeutic Innovation) and 470 (Chemistry) of the University Paris-Sud. The fellowship is awarded for a period of 3-years. Eligibility Candidates of all nationalities are eligible. However, candidates must possess the following:

  • Strong academic track record
  • Must hold a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) or will be able to obtain it before 1 October, 2015.

Note: The fellowship seek motivated creative students with a strong interest for interdisciplinary in the field of Medication and Therapeutics. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on May 12, 2015 by a selection committee which will include representatives of the Doctoral Schools involved.
